How we present our hair makes a huge difference in our overall appearance. With countless hairstyles out there, you could easily get a new look in almost an instant. But if you feel bored of the conventional comb and gel, then take your look to the next level with hair highlights!
Having highlights done can be very expensive, so if that's out of your budget, don't fret. There's a way to have natural highlights that look better than salon, chemical highlights for a fraction of a cost; not to mention safer and all-organic with tea.
Chamomile tea will give your hair a beautiful, natural highlight. It could also make your hair look fresher and healthier. Chamomile tea results in nice gold strands that even brunettes could enjoy. Plus, it won't dry out your hair as opposed to other natural hair highlighters. It would make your hair feel soft instead.
Making your all-natural hair highlighter is very easy. Just follow these simple steps:
- Boil 3 to 4 tablespoons of chamomile tea in two cups of water in an enamel or glass pot. Metal will react with chamomile thus altering the effect. If you do not have an enamel or glass pot, bring the water to a boil and transfer it to an enamel or glass container afterwards then add the dry tea.
- Let the teabags steep for a while to come up with a strong brew.
- Allow it to cool. This may take a while.
That's it! Use the brew to rinse your hair. Alternatively, you can just simply apply the tea to particular strands you wish to highlight. For better effects, sit in the sun for a while and allow it to react with tea. But remember to protect your skin from the UV rays! Be sure to wear clothing, and the all-natural green tea sunscreen! You'll find that as your hair dries, the new highlights begin to show.
To complete the process, wash and rinse the tea off your hair. Apply conditioner if desired. If you wish an even lighter color, repeat the chamomile treatment once a week.
