I was wathcing the news this morning and a nutritionist was answering questions sent in via emial. One question was from a college student that wanted to know what to bring to study groups to munch on that was healthier than the typical snacks like chips and cookies. Along with the suggestions of plain popcorn and rice cakes... the nutritionist suggested a travel mug (I'd probably bring a thermos!) of an interesting tasting tea to "nurse." If it was going to be a late or all nighter, she also suggested choosing a caffeinated tea. I thought it was a good suggestion... and if you were hosting the study group, why not brew up a pot to share? Tea is how I got through many late night study sessions!

Another news program this morning reported on the difference in being hungry and emotional eating. One doctor suggested that if you determine that you are eating because of anxiety, sip a nice calming cup of tea instead of reaching for that chocolate or other high calorie snack. It satisfies the "hand to mouth" action and helps to relieve the anxiety.
